Objective of the game is to have your cards totalling 21 or as close to 21 without going over 21. Everyone plays against the dealer (the house) who begins the game by dealing each player two cards and one card to the house.
Basic rules of the game
Picture cards are counted as 10; ‘Ace’ is counted as either 1 or 11. Rest of the cards are counted at face value. If your initial two cards are an Ace with any 10 or picture card, you have Blackjack and may not draw additional cards.
Blackjack pays 3 to 2 (l½ times your bet). You cannot lose but you could tie if the dealer also has a Blackjack. Blackjack players have all the options, the house has none.

PAIR BETS : An optional ‘pairs’ bet may be placed before receiving any cards and will win if both your initial two cards are of the same rank. The payout signage is posted on each table.

DOUBLING OR DOUBLE DOWN : A player may choose to double any two cards (except Blackjack and 21) only prior to receiving a 3rd card to his/her hand. An additional bet, exactly equal to the original bet must be placed and only one additional card shall be dealt. You may also ‘double down’ after ‘splitting’ a pair.
INSURANCE : When the dealer's first card is an ace, the player may make an additional wager (any amount up to half your original wager) to protect his/her initial bet against the Dealer's possible Blackjack. If the dealer makes Blackjack, the player’s bet will lose
and the insurance bet will be paid 2 to 1. If the dealer does not make Blackjack, the insurance bet loses and the game proceeds. When the dealer's first card is an ace and the player has Blackjack, the player may choose to take even money.

SURRENDER : The player has the option to ‘Surrender’ after the first 2 cards are dealt. If they choose to Surrender, then half of the bet will be forfeited and cards will be removed. Surrender is not allowed when the dealer is showing an ace as first card.
DEALER HAND : Dealer hand stands on 17 points and draw on 16 points exception of dealer card shown soft 17 such as hand containing an Ace and one or more cards totalling 6 (Ace +6, Ace +5 etc) should draw until we achieve 11 as above.

Anyways, I wanted to play banker as the tile was offered around the table but didn't take it because I didn't know how it worked and didn't want to look like a noob. Plus I just wanted to play it safe with what I knew and studied as a player and not banker. (i learned my lesson the first time I played at a land casino without knowing what I was doing i.e.basic strategy and ended up going negative $1000!)
can someone explain to me what I need to do if I were to say 'yes, I'll be banker for the next two rounds'? How much of my money do I need to put up front to cover the table? What if I don't have enough, can I still be banker? what does 'open lock' mean? and what are those little numbered coin looking like things the other side (banker?) who i think uses to cover the cost for the banker/players shortcomings? aaaah! I'm lost. I'm surprised I even left with what I did just on basic strategy.
Basically, what do I have to do at the table as a banker from the time I accept the role of banker to the end of my two rounds as banker.
Alls I know is that if the dealer beats the people at the table the banker/player gets to take whatever was wagered by those who lost. NICE!
